Playtime Plus

Playtime Plus meets during
school term times in St Aidan's Church, Stobhill and is a group
for the under 5s and their carers. Meetings start at 9:30am and
children enjoy a variety of activities. We begin at 9.30am with informal play in the children's area at the back of
the church where we also offer refreshments to the children and adults. At
approximately 10.15 we move to the front of the church, nearer the altar. The
children are encouraged to sit on the carpet and take part in a very
informal act of worship. |
This involves listening to a short story which is delivered using a variety of visual aids, depending on the theme, and is
usually interactive due to the age of the children; then song time when one
or two songs may be chosen by myself in connection with our theme but the children are also welcome to choose any particular song they wish (nursery
rhymes etc.) that are familiar to them. We end the worship time with a
short, sung prayer. We conclude with a simple craft which is also linked to
our story and helps to reinforce the message it contains. We are a very informal group,
with a mixture of people who come to Church and others who don't and
anyone interested in finding out more can contact Wendy, who runs
the group, or just come along and give us a try. Everyone will be
made very welcome.
