St. George’s Hospital is part of the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and
Wear NHS Health Trust, and holds about 200 patients at any one time.
There
is a team of Chaplains serving St George's:
The chaplaincy team holds a service at St George's hospital each
Saturday at 11am and a number of people from the churches in Morpeth
come to the service to help out on a rota system. Volunteering
usually involves coming to the Hospital on one Saturday a month,
phoning the wards to remind them of the Service, preparing the
Chapel and talking to the attendees and helping them.
Some Chaplains
like the volunteers to help with reading and distributing the
Sacrament at the Service too. If this is something that you think
you would like to help with then please contact the Chaplaincy Team
on the number above . But please be aware that working at St
George's does require a DBS check.
The Contact phone number for Chaplains at St George's is 01670 501815.
The address is:
St George's Park
Morpeth
NE61 2NU
